Initial Assessment

The initial session is extremely important in the therapeutic process. The therapist will use an assessment tool to assist them in their understanding of you and the issues that are most important to you. The initial session can also increase your insight and awareness of the issues and undiagnosed problems.

Per Couples Therapy Session

Relationships can be hard. You or your partner may feel misunderstood and/or unsatisfied with the decisions or actions of your partner. In couples therapy, you will have the opportunity to improve your relationships by addressing each party's desire to be heard and understood. After identifying the problems within your relationship, we will provide strategies that encourage resolution centered communication. Our aim is to improve the health of the relationship while encouraging individual growth and transformation.

Per 45/60 min Individual Therapy Session

We understand that therapy can be an intimidating process. At Breaking Barriers Mental Health Services, we pride ourselves on cultivating safe-spaces where you are comfortable speaking openly and honestly, while we listen intently, allowing you to leave each session knowing that you’ve been heard and understood. With a focus on Black issues such as depression, anxiety, job stress, and life transitions; our individual counseling services are designed to establish a professional relationship with an Afrocentric approach.

Per Family Therapy Session

Family therapy helps families understand and improve the way that members communicate, interact, and resolve conflicts together. This type of therapy strengthens the family unit, improves individuality within the family, and improves communication, respect, and understanding for members within the family.
